Winter Break

The Library will be closed from 5 pm on Thursday, December 23, 2021, through the end of the winter break. The Library will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2022.

What does it mean for the Library to be closed?

  • Library Staff will not be available to assist you. As a courtesy, please do not ask staff from other departments to help you in the Library during the temporary closure.
  • The circulation of physical items will be unavailable, and the check-out kiosk will be turned off.
  • Inter-library loan services will be unavailable.
  • The used book sale will be unavailable.
  • The first-floor and mezzanine stacks will be locked. Patrons should refrain from accessing the second-floor stacks.
  • Patrons will maintain access to all digital resources, although technical support will be unavailable.
  • Patrons may continue to use the carrels and tables in the Library’s Circulation Room, Reading Room, and second-floor for study.
  • Due dates will be extended, and library fines will not accumulate during this closure.

What should you do in preparation for the Library closure?

If you plan to use electronic resources during the break, please make sure you can log in before the vacation begins. Checking on this in advance will give you time to ask for assistance. If you need physical resources during the winter break, the Library Staff asks you to plan ahead and retrieve them before 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021.
